Advice Please!

I have a recent commission to create a doll for a woman who is a certified pilot and a Winnie the Pooh fan. I was thinking a cloth doll dressed as an aviatrix like Amelia Earhart and her companion Pooh with his own aviator goggles. I'm trying to figure out how to make the goggles, I have no experience with metal crafts so soldering together frames will be beyond my capabilities. Does anyone have any experience with constructing something like this?

  1. hmmm, good question. I'm wanting to do a steampunk kindred, with goggles, and was wondering about using metallic clay and some of the clear plastic that is used in blister
packaging. I haven't tried it yet, and have no idea how it would turn out.

  2. I LOVE your dolls and that is a great idea for the commission... Metal crafts make me NERVOUS (I've melted my hair before with a gas grill so I stay away from fire) so I think I'd probably find some way with clay, rubber, and maybe cloth incorporated. You're so talented, I'm sure you will pull it off!
